Making the right choiceThe type of holiday and your expectations is an important in the choice of your villa. Do you choose for serenity; a quiet holiday with your family, or are you looking for action during the evening hours? Do you long for an intimate vacation with your partner? Or perhaps you wish to combine business with pleasure. The Compagnie knows the details of each house, to assist you in choosing a villa which suits your individual requirements. Each villa is different. The owners who reside on Bali only a few months a year, are often well to do. Many have decorated their houses with personal belongings, which gives each house a personal ambience. The villas and its guests are cared for by their staff. Your choiceThe compagnie offers you a range of holiday homes and villas varying from a luxury studio for two, to large impressive villas for 10 guests or more, including all imaginable amenities. Most houses have a tropical garden with swimming pool and offer total privacy and a relaxed atmosphere. In general the villas are situated close to beaches, restaurants and shops. The majority of the homes are on the south coast in the vicinity of one of the quiet villages near Kuta, such as Seminyak, Kerobokan, Cangu , Legian and Nusa Dua. Your VillaThe villas on Bali are built for the tropic. They have abundant space: Open living and dining rooms, surrounded by beautiful tropical gardens. The bedrooms have fans or air-conditioning and have a typical open air bathroom (completely private) decorated with various plants and flowers. The kitchens are generally well-equipped with a refrigerator, cooking plate, coffee-maker and dishes. Sheets and towels are also provided for. The majority of the houses have a private pool. Some share a pool with another twin house on the premises. If this is the case, it is explicitly mentioned. Regardless of which type you choose, a private vills offers more space, comfort and service than any luxury hotel. In no time you will grow so accustomed to the surroundings that you will feel at home! Another advantage compared to a hotel is that you do not have any neighbours to take into consideration. There are no hidden government taxes (21% on Bali), service charges or exorbitant telephone charges. A holiday home is simply a better bargain. House hold staffAll owners have staff in service who, as a rule will clean, make the beds, wash, shop, cook and tend to the garden and pool. There are no chores for you to do, unlike when you should rent a house, for example in France or the Caribean. The staff is free on a public holiday! A Balinese does not worry about losing a job. He will not appear if there happens to be a village feast or temple ceremony. The staff speaks limited English but this is well compensated by their friendliness. Privacy is not a problem. If you wish, they can make themselves invisible (yes they really can!) and you may also send them home whenever you please. If required, a driver or even a baby-sitter can be arranged for (the Balinese love children), both at reasonable cost. Expected and extra costsWhat are the costs of a private house or villa? This depends on several aspects; the size, location, staff and season. The Compagnie offers houses from US$ 700 per week. On average you may expect between US$ 1000 and US$ 2750 per week for a house for a maximum of 6 persons including staff and a swimmingpool. The rental always includes salary for the staff, electricity, water, gas, the gardener, local taxes, etc. Extra Costs: These include telephone and fax (25% increase), food and beverages, etc. Compared to a hotel, this saves you approximately US$ 60 per person, per day since costs for meals, snacks, drinks and taxes add up quickly. Financial mattersTravellers checks or cash in most foreign currencies can be changed in the various banks or "money changers" that Bali offers. Credit cards are accepted by most shops and restaurants. The last years ATM's have been installed. Included / ExcludedThe rent of a villa includes transfer to and from the airport and all facilities and services mentioned by each individual house. Not included are the tips for the staff; this is free of obligations but customary in Bali. ClimateThe climate on Bali is tropical. The dry season begins in March and ends in November. However the monsoon season is very agreeable on Bali. This time of the year is also more quiet. Another advantage is the higher availability of villa's in low season. Many guests see this period as a winter break and prefer Bali to a skiing vacation. In case you are committed to High season, July, August and September, it would be wise to book well in advance. MealsThe costs are solely for the supplies and ingredients which the cook (if available in your villa) needs to buy in order to prepare your meals and beverages. It is possible to shop for meals yourself, but you can also leave this up to the staff. Generally the cooks are excellent in preparing Indonesian meals, but also have (limited) knowledge of western food. One can arrange to have the first supplies bought if you wish so. You can simply mention this upon booking your villa.
